Melaghar Town

There are some popular clubs around the town, those are mostly known specially for making pandels in Puja Season . There are many competitor clubs of each other as some are following: Red Lotus Club Hrishi Aravinda Club Student Club Sanhati Club Swami Vivekananda Samajik Sanstha Tarun Sangha Jagannath Club Excepting puja seasons these clubs also connected many social works including Blood Donation camp in the town. Gumati is the most popular and important river in the Indian state Tripura. Originated from Atharamura and Longhtorai mountain range near Domboor is 133 kms long and flew over Amarpur, Udaipur, Melaghar , Sonamura town and at last linked to Meghna river in Bangladesh. The river creates a dam in Domboor lake near Amarpur. The river has its own importance as because it helps many local villagers and farmers to cross the river with their wealth such as important Bamboos and other forest wealth, as some of the villages doesn't have a suitable roads to commute. Also some new and re-built bridges are now there across some towns and in villages, that helps peoples a lot.

When it about health, people should take of him/herself very well otherwise it may cause to visit him/her to a local health center. This is normal for peoples to suffer in many light and tough diseases seasonally as some of them are very sensitive. They prefer to visit the only Hospital of the town that located in Padmadhepa area.   Melaghar Sub-Divisional Hospital . Although hospital is old and in good condition, local junior and senior doctors located at outdoor always, sometimes other doctors visit from nearby towns to check up patients. But most of the time if any patient's condition goes down, the doctors and hospital authority refers him/her to Agartala located GBP or IGM hospital. 

Chaitra Sell is  one of the popular market sells in the town like all over the state. Every Bengali year at the last moment of month Chaitra ( চৈত্র ) every vendors starts to sell products in a huge discount and try to sell all the products in their warehouse so that they can give a new and fresh start at the time of new year. The markets in all over the town opens whole day till night time that time to receive good amount of customer. Well, after running along the town it's normal to feeling hungry. The place is not known for best food and beverage options, but there are some hotels and restaurants that you may visit at least.  As my choice for good hotel, no. 1 is Sagarmahal Tourist Lodge at Rajghat , as this is popular for tourists and visitors. You can get great meal there. Debroy Hotel, another choice near Kalibari. Food and beverage both will you find there in suitable price. You can find more small hotels nearby motorstand , they have opened specially guests who came the town for roaming or works. At the evening the town goes for fast food, some famous fast food and restaurant is located around the market area with huge crowd. Melaghar   is one of the most important commercial town in Tripura as because the point is near to Bangladesh. Infront view of the school Melaghar Class XII School or known as Melaghar Boy's School is the most important school all over the town. Situated about 200 meters from netaji corner  is a Higher Govt. Secondary School. Nowadays the Boy's School name not applying because as some girls are also studying in the school instead of studying at there school , Melaghar Girls High School . Girls School seems doesn't have some education systems and qualities for the students after 10th standard, so they have to visit boy's school to continue their studies. There are currently  500+ students active in the school with an average of 80% presence. Teachers also present here with suitable ratio for the students. The school is affiliated to  Tripura Board of Secondary Examination . There is a field famous for activity sports, Sahid Kajal Maidan, locally known as Boy's field. Night View of the Mall Pal Mansion is a new Shopping Centre opened in Melaghar , near   Netaji Corner . The Mall is mostly famous for popular clothing items and it's designs. Ladies, Gents and Kids cloths are available here. Having good discounts most of time.  Maximum time having good crowd now it's the most viewed and popular Mall in the town because of it's new built. Netaji Chowmuhuni also known as Netaji Corner Or School Chowmuhuni, a local intersection situated middle of   Melaghar Town . It also called School Chowmuhuni because the famous school of the town  Melaghar Class XII School is situated nearby it and peoples have to go there through the intersection. The reason behind calling it Netaji Corner/Chowmuhuni is that, there is a statue of  Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at the middle point. Diveded into North, Central and South Market.  The market usually crowded all times; specially in Tuesday, because Tuesday is an important day for all the shop dealers as the day known as Market Day (হাট বার ) locally. Thursday shops remains closed as the day known as Close Day locally. All the regular using things found here in Market, from North to South. The main transportation system of the town is Road Transportation. The only important major road is Agartala-Sonamura State Highway (SH-6), that's gone through this town of about 3 km. The main vehicle stand, where the vehicles like Bus Service, Auto-Rickshaw and other small cars (Jeep, Max etc) park for passenger.  Cars and Busses are available to Agartala, Udaipur and Sonamura from here. You have to ride an Auto-Rickshaw if wanna go to any local destinations nearby.

Rudrasagar Lake , also known as Rudijala, is a lake located in Melaghar, Tripura, India. The  Government of India 's Ministry of Environment and Forest has identified Rudrasagar as one of the  wetlands  of National Importance for conservation and sustainable use based on its bio-diversity and socio economic importance. Secretary General, convention on wetlands,  Ramsar  site has declared Rudrasagar Lake as wetland of international importance and it has been included in the list of wetlands of International Importance.  This certificate has been communicated by ministry of environment and forest, govt. of India on 29-02-2007. The Rudrasagar Lake is located in the Melaghar Block of Sonamura Sub-Division of Sipahijala district. The lake forms a geographical area of 2.4 km 2  and situated at a distance of about 52 km from the state capital of Tripura. The lake is situated in between 23°29’ N and 90°01’ E. Neer Mahal Neer mahal  (নীরমহল) (meaning "Water palace") is a former royal palace built by King  Bir Bikram Kishore Debbarman  of the erstwhile  Kingdom of Tripura ,India in the middle of the lake Rudrasagar in 1930 and was completed by 1938 . It is situated in  Melaghar , 53 kilometers away from the  Agartala , the capital of  Tripura . The palace is situated in the middle of  Rudrasagar Lake  and assimilates  Hindu  and  Muslim  architectural styles. The palace is the largest of its kind in  India  and the only one in Eastern India. There are only two water palace in India another one is the  Jal Mahal  in  Rajasthan. Known as ‘lake palace’ of Tripura, Neer-Mahal was constructed as a summer residence. It was Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Bahadur’s idea to build a palace in the beautiful Rudrasagar lake and in 1921 he accredited the British company Martin and Burns to construct the palace for him. Melaghar currently is a Municipal Council Town in Sepahijala District in the Indian Northeastern State of   Tripura. Converted from a Gram Panchayat in 2014.   Situated on the bank of river Gumati. Co-ordinates are  23.49°N 91.33°E . Situated only 10 kms from Bangladesh border and 50 kms from capital Agartala . Melaghar is famous for its World famous Water Palace Neer Mahal . The town has a population of 20,300 (as per Dainik Sambad   Publishers Apr,2017). 51% males and 49% females. Literacy rate 91%, that's higher than national rate (74%).
